On the afternoon of April 29, a total of 300 people from China Design Institute and the construction company gathered together.
In the "Internet+" era of real estate's silver age, the conference focused on system doors and windows, curtain wall selection, industry hot trends, and featured live streaming. The event was supported by Weibo and China Real Estate Network, both prominent media partners in the real estate doors, windows, and curtain wall sector.
The forum kicks off with a powerful opening, offering expert data insights into the booming spring season of the doors, windows, and curtain wall industry.
As a vital component of architectural structures, the window, door, and curtain wall industry is closely intertwined with the real estate and construction sectors. Modern architectural curtain walls enhance the aesthetic appeal of cities, while the use of high-end windows and doors significantly improves people's living environments. Meanwhile, as skyscrapers continue to rise across urban landscapes, real estate projects are placing increasingly stringent demands on green, energy-efficient, and highly secure window and curtain wall systems.
As China's overall economy enters a "new normal," economic growth is slowing, and the broader real estate market is also showing signs of sluggishness. Amid this challenging environment, Huayuan, Yuanyang, Evergrande, and the broader market landscape face significant uncertainties.
Innovation in the real estate industry is also inspiring supplier companies—particularly how to better connect and collaborate across the upstream and downstream sectors. To address this, China Real Estate Association’s Youcai China Real Estate Procurement Platform is working tirelessly to foster stronger partnerships within the industry. At the event, Zhang Liwei, Vice President of the China Real Estate Association, emphasized that under the "new normal," the entire real estate sector must accelerate supply-side reforms, enhancing the quality and variety of property offerings. At the same time, manufacturers—including those producing doors, windows, and related components—are encouraged to embrace a relentless pursuit of excellence, refining their craftsmanship to deliver superior products and build robust brands. With these efforts, industry leaders are confident that the long-awaited spring for the real estate sector is just around the corner.

In fact, as China’s urbanization wave sweeps across the country, supertall buildings are experiencing rapid growth. In China, there are 71 supertall structures exceeding 400 meters in height, and 17 towers surpassing 500 meters. Meanwhile, in the United States—historically the birthplace of supertall architecture—the country boasts just 3 supertall buildings over 400 meters. As a result, China is set to become the global hub for supertall buildings, accounting for as much as 85% to 90% of the world’s total.
The total investment in super-tall buildings over 400 meters stands at 7 to 8 billion yuan, while investments in those exceeding 600 meters reach 12 to 13 billion yuan. These precise figures point clearly toward the immense market potential awaiting China’s window, door, and curtain wall industries in the future. At the conference, Shi Shijia, a director of the China BIM Standards Committee under the China BIM Development Alliance, a senior designer with the China Building Decoration Association, and a professor specializing in curtain wall engineering and machinery at Donghua University, emphasized that lightweight glass curtain walls have become essential components of ultra-high-rise structures—indispensable and irreplaceable for such projects. Glass curtain walls currently account for 6%–8% of total construction costs, yet they hold tremendous market growth prospects. Ultra-high-rise buildings represent the pinnacle of advanced architectural and construction technologies, driving innovative advancements in the building machinery manufacturing sector—and, crucially, significantly elevating the operational and management standards for these towering skyscrapers.

Yang Zhihua, Director of Engineering Design at Beijing Kaishunteng, also pointed out that the future trends in architectural curtain walls are as follows: first, facades will become increasingly complex and diverse in design; second, rising labor costs are driving the industry toward standardization and factory-based production; third, as economic conditions improve, curtain walls are evolving from basic functional systems to specialized, comfort-oriented solutions—leading to ever-higher demands for their performance characteristics; and fourth, there is a growing emphasis on personalized customization.

Leveraging Youcai to Explore New Models of Collaboration Between the Real Estate and Doors, Windows, and Curtain Wall Industries
The Youcai Doors, Windows & Curtain Wall Forum not only brings together experts and professors from across the doors, windows, and curtain wall industry, but also attracts numerous real estate companies and construction firms. As a platform for dialogue spanning the entire real estate industry chain—connecting upstream and downstream players—the forum’s core purpose is to break through the barriers of information asymmetry, introducing cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, and tailored solutions that ultimately deliver safer, higher-quality offerings to China’s construction sector.
Xinyi Glass Technical Director Wan Junpeng delivered a presentation titled "Key Considerations in the Design of Curtain Wall Glass for High-Rise Buildings," sharing insights from a materials supplier’s perspective on the challenges of glass curtain wall design, as well as critical issues related to energy efficiency and safety. Wu Jianjun, Southwest Regional Manager of YASA Helei Guoqiang (Shandong) Hardware Technology Co., Ltd., focused on "Doors and Windows: Hidden Safety Risks in Our Daily Lives—Discussing the Safe Use of Exterior-Hinged Window Hardware," highlighting the vital link between door and window hardware and people's health and safety in practical applications. Xiao Zhen, Manager of the Technical Service Department at Guangzhou Jitai Chemical Co., Ltd., presented on "Emerging Trends in the Building Adhesive Industry," delving into the latest industry standards for construction adhesives, technical services provided by structural adhesive manufacturers, application guidelines for building component accessories, and innovative approaches to adhesive solutions tailored for prefabricated construction. Meanwhile, Komet shared strategies for enhancing the quality of aluminum alloy doors and windows, particularly focusing on waterproofing solutions and advanced stop mechanisms for sliding sashes in thermal-break sliding-door systems.
High-Level Dialogue
During the summit forum session, industry experts Wu Zhiyong from the doors, windows, and curtain wall sector, Jiang Miao from Greeland Group, Yang Zongjian from Xinyi Glass, Wang Baoshen from Guoqiang Hardware, Yi Donglin from Antai Building Adhesives, and Cai Yunhui from Comet engaged in a lively exchange of ideas on the topic "Collaboration Models Between Real Estate and the Doors, Windows, and Curtain Wall Industry." With the rapid economic growth in Southwest China, the region's doors, windows, and curtain wall market is poised for significant expansion. As a result, more and more medium-to-large-sized enterprises in this sector are turning their attention toward Chengdu. Meanwhile, ensuring the safety and reliability of doors, windows, and curtain wall products is increasingly becoming an industry-wide consensus. Moving forward, industry associations and companies will strengthen their efforts to enhance knowledge sharing and skill development, jointly promoting high-quality doors, windows, and curtain wall solutions while working together to deliver exceptional construction projects.
